SMPS (SWITCHED MODE POWER SUPPLY)
(SMPS Pcb circuit board)
- It is use as voltage control circuit. Our electric appliences are design to run on it's rated voltage. but when some changes occur in voltage it may harm for our device.
- So we must have to use voltage controller. So it oppose the change of value.
- SMPS is one of the this type device. It oppose the change of value.
There are some component in SMPS
- Line by line we will understand all function of component which is used in SMPS.
- TRANSFORMER: -
- Transformer is use for transform power.
- Here it is Step-down transformer.
- Here input is 230v. It is too more for rectifier.
- So transformer step down it in 12v or 24v(as per required)
- BRIDGE RECTIFIER: -
- Bridge rectifier is use to convert Ac current to Dc current.
- It is full-wave rectifier.
- It has 4-Diod.
- in this rectifier there are center tapping is necssary.
- At here with rectifier there are parallel capacitor filter.
- It make pulsating Dc in to smooth Dc(not all component)
- CHOPPER: -

- Chopeer is device which convert high voltage Dc to high frequency Ac.
- FERRITE CORED STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER: -
- This is FERRITE CORED STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER.
- It convert high voltage, high frequency Ac to high frequency, low voltage.
- There are approximately 20kHz to 50kHz frequency.
- Therefor the size of it is lower as compare to main frequency transformer.
- There are PI filter is also conncted in parallel.
- Again it convert pulsating Dc to smooth Dc.

- Then we took sample from output which is smooth Dc with the help of sampling network.
- Then we transfer it to comparator.
- It compare output sample and reference sample.
- If any changes may require it gave signal to chopper.
- So chopper change frequency as per require.
